RDI is searching for a talented individual contributor who will drive improvements across all aspects of clinical trials. The Lab Technician will report to the Lab Director and is responsible for the testing, maintenance, coordination, and oversight of all laboratory related responsibilities.

The company boasts a national network of physicians & labs and supplies the largest In Vitro Diagnostic companies with the research data they need to improve healthcare worldwide. RDI is a trial management organization connecting IVD manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies with a network of doctors participating in advancing medical research.   We provide sample procurement, conduct testing, and simplify the clinical trial process for our clients while recruiting, educating, and training independent physicians to participate in in-vitro diagnostic studies, unlocking access to valuable patient samples.

As the COVID-19 crisis has taught the world accurate lab testing and bloodwork are critical and RDI is well-positioned to help lab manufacturers across the world develop new COVID-19 tests. We are also working on several COVID-19 projects, which is immensely satisfying to be able to contribute directly to the research. 

What we are looking for

The Lab Technician will report to the Lab Director and is responsible for the testing, maintenance, coordination, and oversight of all laboratory related responsibilities.

In this role, you will be the primary person responsible for testing clinical samples in accordance with our client project requests. We are not a CLIA laboratory, and we do not report patient results, however we follow some of the same guidelines in operating our lab and testing samples.

You will be responsible for organizing the samples designated for testing, running the tests, recording the results, and working with the Lab Director to report these results back to the research team for their analysis.  Based on their analysis, you may be asked to run repeat testing and conduct additional troubleshooting.

This is an exciting role for the lab technician who loves working with the instruments and is looking for something more than reporting routine lab results. A teamwork mentality is a must for this position.


What you'll do

  • Organizes reagents and consumables for required testing
  • Runs samples, calibrations, and QC on instruments and report any issues to Lab Director
  • Proficient with data entry, barcode generation, and datafile export
  • Troubleshoots issues with instruments and comfortable resolving issues
  • Flexibility needed to adhere to testing schedules to meet the needs projects
  • Collects, prepares and maintains required research documentation, including run-time reports, case records, clinical notes and medical reports. 
  • Responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the lab. 
  • Informs Lab Director of supplies needed in the lab and for projects
  • Track incoming lab supplies and inform the Lab Director of stock levels
  • Record temperature logs for all equipment in the lab
  • Work with service departments to ensure instruments are operational
  • Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books

What you'll bring

  • Prior experience with automated analyzers in a hospital, academic, or manufacturer's laboratory  (2+ Year Experience with Siemens Analyzers)
  • BS in Chemistry or related Biological discipline; OR recent graduates working toward MedTech or CLS certification
  • Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to process blood, urine, and swab specimens.
