About our company

RDI is our clients' best kept secret to help them get their new instruments and assays to market. Instead of calling busy clinical labs in hospitals and asking them to test new products, our clients place their products in our lab where we dedicate staff and time to focus on validating their new instruments or assays. Our company was founded in 2008, by an Assay Development Scientist, and since then we have placed large instruments in our labs (10-12 analyzers at once) and managed hundreds of new validations. 

As a company, we are focused on growth. We have opened locations in Ohio and recently a new lab in New Jersey with plans for more expansion. As the COVID-19 crisis has taught the world -- good lab testing is critical, and RDI is well positioned to help lab manufacturers across the world develop and validate their new tests. We are also working on several COVID-19 projects, which is immensely satisfying to be able to help.

About the job

The Laboratory Sales Representative will lead our efforts to find and recruit physicians and labs to work with us to collect samples from their patients. The Sales Rep will manage lead generation operations, create compelling sales materials, manage administrative staff to conduct email and phone campaigns, and conduct visits to answer physician questions and support them as they begin the collection process. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales calls and other activities aimed at achieving sales quota and goals for the Sales Representative's assigned accounts and territory
  • Call on doctors at their offices as well as at hospitals, trade shows, and conferences to explain the benefits of the research RDI conducts
  • Act as a liaison between the client and the RDI operations team in relation to project needs
  • Ensure physician and lab retention by providing superior superior customer service
  • Cultivate new and expanded sales prospects and customer opportunities to achieve sales growth of RDI projects
  • Conduct customer focused activities and meetings, as required .

Requirements

  • A laboratory or pharmaceutical sales background with at least 2 years of direct sales of laboratory services or supplement products to physicians or other licensed medical providers
  • Proven success managing a book of business or familiarity with Clinical Trials, Good Clinical Practices and Good Laboratory Practices
  • Superior customer service skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships especially in the new environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast paced, competitive market
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
